    Calling all Makeup Artist, Hair Stylist, Designers, Wardrobe Stylist, Estheticians, Lash Techs, everyone in the beauty and fashion industry, cosmetology students and aspiring industry professional welcome.

We are pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Detroit Business and Beauty Expo. The goal of the DBBE is to empower Detroit’s beauty industry. This event will bring education and information to the professionals in this industry. As an industry, we want to maintain the level of professionalism. There will be a panel discussion on the business of beauty, hair, and fashion. We will share some trade secrets. Discussing brand building, marketing, business finances, customer service, and more. One hundred people are expected to take part in this event that will provide exposure, networking and premiere education to makeup artist, hair stylist, designers, wardrobe stylist and anyone interested in getting a piece of the multi-billion-dollar beauty industry.

Latrice Goodwine was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan and a proud graduate of the
Saginaw Public School system.  After high school, Ms. Goodwine received her Bachelors of
Business Administration in Banking/Finance and Management with a Minor in Accountancy
from Northwood University. Later she received her Masters of Business Administration in
Strategic Leadership from Walsh College.
Ms. Goodwine has over 16 years in the financial industry as a banker, commercial lender and
project manager. In 2013, is when Latrice found her true professional PURPOSE and PASSION
as a FINANCIAL Advisor! As a Financial Advisor, Ms. Goodwine holds her Series 7 & 66 and
insurance licensees. In this capacity, she has assisted hundreds of individuals, families and local
businesses diagnose current financial positions and develops customized strategies to achieve
financial goals such as: maximizing wealth, reducing tax liabilities, retirement planning and
protecting accumulated assets through insurance strategies.  After attending a Womens
Empowerment Brunch on January 1, 2018 in Detroit, MI; Girl! What's in Your P.U.R.S.E? was
born! With this platform Latrice specializes in financially empowering women with tips,
concepts and strategies that address unique financial situations that women face in every stage of
their lives.
Outside of work, Latrice enjoys spending time with young family. In addition to family time;
Latrice is heavily involved in her church and other community activities. She also enjoys reading
"self-help books," taking road trips, shopping, and hanging out with girlfriends.

Lisa A. Smith, MBA, NASM CPT 
Lisa A. Smith is a serial entrepreneur, health and wellness subject matter expert and practitioner. She is a certified personal trainer and behavior change specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a masters in business administration and is currently pre-med at Wayne State University. She is certified in plant based nutrition from Cornell University and is also the founder of The Black Health Academy and Professionally Fit.
Lisa began her own weight loss journey in 2012 at 190lbs.  She fell in love with fitness, nutrition and self-development, lost over 60lbs and gained a bottomless amount of confidence. It wasn’t until she gained confidence in her physical health that she was able to gain confidence in her career. With her new found confidence she launched Professionally Fit in July of 2015.  At Professionally Fit, Lisa and her team help individuals and organizations to bridge the gap between their health and their career by helping them to identify the areas of opportunity in their well-being which will translate to growth in their companies and careers. She’s a local media personality who has worked with Mason Radio on 107.5 FM, as host of The MIXX TV Show with UDetroit. Under her personal brand “CHICKdom” she’s a motivational speaker and writer on the topics of personal development, relationships, and self-love.

 

AJ is the Creator and Blogger-in-Chief at SingleBlackChick.com and RebelSoulChick.com which are lifestyle brands that focus on CHICK power and inspiration. Through these platforms, AJ shares her candid take on relationships, life, love and spiritual wellness using her life as a platform to empowering women to embrace their skin, sexuality, soul, and personal journey.

 

AJ has always had a passion for empowering women, especially the portrayal of women in media. From this love, AJ started her media production company, 444Media Group inspired by her biggest inspiration, her grandmother. 444Media Group’s mission is to produce innovative content that engages, empowers and starts a conversation with a specialized focus on positive images of women in media.

A DPS Pershing High School graduate, Williams pursued a Bachelor Degree from the University of Michigan and received her Broadcasting/Radio accreditation with Specs Howard School of Media Arts. She is currently attending Rochester College to master Mass Communications. Also, she is completing her debut book: A Chick’s Guide to Living a KICK-ASS Life.
